A pictorial record is a picture of the real thing. This can be a drawing or a photograph.
The photographs opposite show different veiws of the Tallowwood, Eucalyptus microcorys. There is a photograph of the flower and one of the fruit (the gumnuts). Another shows the whole tree and the bark.
The drawing was done by a botanical artist to show the fine detail of the plant with all the information needed to identify it.
Your Herbarium PLUS will be much more interesting if there are some photographs, drawing or paintings of the plants, as well as just the pressed specimens.
